Creative Romance

Creative Romance

February 08, 2019

It’s February, Valentine’s Day is upon us and believe it or not it is also Creative Romance Month.

For those in the single dating world it can seem ominous. Those who are in relationships, keeping up with the creativity can seem daunting. Did you know that psychologists tell us dating is a vital part of any relationship?  They say that the importance of trying new and different things boost relationships and contribute to making it become more romantic and fun.  So, what are some creative ways to up the romance game in your relationship?

Here are some ideas that might get your creative juices flowing. Some are extensive and take lots of planning, others are simple and fun but either way, love is in the air.

  • Go on a surprise trip. Make it an out of town destination or even an in-town hotel night.
  • Kidnap them for a day. It can be something as simple as a romantic dinner to their favorite restaurant then taking them to a concert or sporting event. Include a scavenger hunt for clues on the next stop.
  • Plan a picnic in the mountains and go on a nature walk.
  • Workout or take a fitness class together. Bungee, Taekwondo even Goat Yoga.
  • Troll for in-town interesting spots and take pictures together.
  • Visit a museum and see something new.
  • Head on a road trip. Long or short.
  • Make homemade pizzas and watch old movies
  • Stargaze. It’s a bit of a cliché, but completely romantic.
  • Learn to dance. Ballroom is always a romantic choice.
  • Go camping. Its not only inexpensive but cozy.
  • Kiss, Kiss, Kiss. I thought this was kind of funny, not for a first date of course, but if you’re a more seasoned pair, try these 36 kisses: French Kiss, Sniff Kiss, Nip Kiss, Eskimo Kiss, Butterfly Kiss, Basic Kiss, Spiderman Kiss, Flavored Kiss, Vacuum Kiss, Fish Kiss, Tease Kiss, Candy Kiss, Ice Kiss, Firm Kiss, From Behind Kiss, Slow Motion Kiss, Opposite Kiss, Downward Kiss, Tickle Kiss, No Lips Kiss, Blow Kiss, Woodpecker Kiss, Lady and the Tramp Kiss, Shocking Kiss, High Low Kiss, Kiss on the Hand, Kiss on the Cheek, Kiss on the Neck, Kiss on the Fingers, Kiss on the Shoulder, Kiss on the Ear, Kiss on the Back, Kiss on the Navel, Kiss on the Nose, Kiss on the Eyes, Kiss on the Forehead. Not sure what they all mean? Just have fun with it.
  • Play dress-up. Put on your best outfits and hit up a fancy restaurant. If funds are low, the local Chik -Fil- A is always a great place.
  • Have a game night. Video, card or board it doesn’t matter as long as you’re together.
  • Visit the Zoo. Learn new animal facts by reading the plackets.
  • Play truth or dare. This would be a great way to get to know one another.
  • Go to a drive-in movie. Load up a truck bed with pillows and blankets.
  • Do something new and adventurous. Sometimes the best dates involve doing something that neither of you have done before.

Put on your thinking caps and channel your inner Pinterest. Use your imagination. Dating should be fun and pleasurable for both parties. Never stop having fun. Never stop learning about each other. "We come to love not by finding a perfect person but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly."- Sam Keen

Love much,

Heather
