Do you crave comfort? Is throwing on a t-shirt and sweat pants or jeans your favorite thing? If it is, I am with you all the way. I have a collection of T-shirts from all over. From travel destinations to the sale rack at Target. T-shirts are comfort personified.
It is said that T-Shirts came about at the turn of the twentieth century during the Spanish American War. The US Navy issued then as undergarments. They were then toted to the general public because of their comfort and ease in maintenance. They focused on the image of virile strong soldier/male physique.
T-shirts were quite often associated with teens and rebellion. Pretty soon Hollywood jumped on the wagon and put muscly actors in T-shirts. If you have ever seen the classic film "A Street Car Named Desire" with Marlon Brando you will have noticed his bulging muscles sneaking out of his shirt.
During the twenty-first century fashion designers started putting T-shirts on the runway. Now days, T-shirts are a staple for pretty much everyone. Even our ever-classy first lady Melania Trump has said, "I do wear jeans and T-shirt though! I like them - why not? They're very comfortable, and when I'm home and playing with my child, I like to wear a white T-shirt and jeans."
T-Shirts are versatile and let's face it, easy to wear. They are sold pretty much everywhere you look. Fitted, baggy, over-sized, graphic, plain, your style your choice. Make a T-Shirt your uniform of choice. Because, hey, comfort is best.
Love Much,
Heather
