GET OUT! That’s right trash your baggage and start a new life. Okay, that might be a little harsh, but we all think it. That’s why as the new year starts, we make resolutions, goals and to do lists to better our lives. Out with the old and in with the new. Isn’t that what they say? If you are like me, you have good intentions that make you set the goals and begin to change your life, but things happen, and goals fall by the wayside. It is said that 92% of people who set goals at the new year DON’T follow through with them.
Have you ever asked yourself why you don’t follow through with the goals you set? We want to be the best person we can so what makes us quit? Time, energy level, unrealistic expectations, you name it it's an excuse. Maybe by understanding how our personality affects what we do will help us to be more productive in our goal achievement. Who can relate to this? I get lazy, I don’t like change, I get down on myself when I don’t do what I think I need to be doing so I get frustrated and bag the whole thing.
I was reading a post by Human Art and it got me thinking about the inner workings of my personality and what needs to be done BEFORE I can make progress. One cannot just jump into changing their life without steps. They have identified four “inner landscape tools” for helping us reach our full potential. I highly recommend checking them out.
Jay Shetty, an awesome motivational speaker, has said that you either make progress or make excuses. Which one do you want to be grouped into? I hope this new year finds YOU progressing into the fantastic, wonderful, positive person you want to be. As my girls say, YOU DO YOU, BOO!
